  • This two day course lectured by a senior Veterinary Nurse explores the relevant in depth small animal anatomy and physiology for the Hydrotherapist
  • This includes the lymphatic system, cardiovascular and respiratory system and the muscular and nervous system
  • This course will give learners the opportunity to expand their knowledge and understanding of canine anatomy and physiology, which will assist you in effective hydrotherapy practice

  • Detailed lecture of the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system
  • Types of blood vessels and their locations
  • How different situations affects the patients circulatory system
  • Key purpose and function body cavities including the abdomen, thorax
  • The lymphatic system detailing its role and function
  • The nervous system to include feedback and feedforward systems, somatic and visceral neurons
  • Sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system
  • How postural correction is achieved
  • The respiratory system and how behavioural and environmental factors influence it
  • Muscular system to include fast and slow skeletal muscle
  • Sliding filament theory
  • The effects of use and disuse of body systems such as musculo-skeletal, nervous and circulatory systems
